Unlike archaeological material, historical and contemporary material covers the period from the beginning of the Renaissance to the present day. It is a diverse material: objects made of various metals and alloys, decorative and functional objects made in all known techniques of manual or industrial production, masterpieces. The most dynamic development of ideas and possibilities occurred in the past 300 years, when many techniques were perfected and new, previously unknown materials such as aluminum were discovered.
Ethnographic collections
These are objects related to traditional crafts and trades and the creation of objects that have important cultural significance for a particular region, area or country. The confirmation of the identity and tradition of a people through a particular object sheds light on the time period and purpose of the object at the time of its creation. They are often made of composite materials that, in addition to metal, also contain other materials such as wood, glass and ceramics.
